Malmö Music Conference 2021

Malmö Music Conference 2021 is 2 day event celebrating the rich and diverse community and music scene in Malmö.The focus of the conference is to offer an international programme of music covering a wide range of genres – whether it is rock, folk, classical or electronic.

A 2 day exploratory journey into Malmös music scene with shared stories and experiences from musicians, venues, producers, enthusiasts and the local community. Going on a journey by way of inspiring talks, performances, workshops and panel discussions.

This 2 day experience is brought to you by the team behind southern Sweden’s largest electronic music festival Backyard Sessions.

Selection of participants

Effayé – singer and songwriter who started off by doing "dreamy soul", then moving over to the Pop Genre. And later, discovering the love for Rap. 

Johanna Knutsson – one of Sweden’s most respected artists and DJs in the electronic music scene. She has released a string of well received records on different labels as founding the vinyl only cult label Zodiac 44. 

Albin – a musician and producer who blends electro, krautrock, and minimalism, by using analog synthesizers and drum machines.

Spunsugar – rooted in modern Shoegaze and mainstream 90s alt-rock but with electronic drums. Last year they released their first full length LP "Drive-Through Chapel", which received good reviews and worldwide attention. This fall they will release an EP with four new songs.

Nathan Larsson – musician, author, curator, award-winning film music composer and founder of the Lumen Project. He has played in many bands, including A Camp, Shudder to Think, and Girls against Boys.  

Niklas Brantberg – Chief of Music at Epidemic Sound in charge of all sales activities and strategic partnerships, including within music streaming.
