What year did you begin to play your instrument, and why that specific instrument? I began to play violin when I was 6 years old. One day my mom brought me a violin, which one of my cousin used to play on. I hadn't seen any other kid around me playing violin at that time, so it seemed such a unique and cool activity.
When did you begin to work in MSO? Since the 19th of November 2012, 6 days after my final exam at the university.
What does your educational background look like? I quit playing violin when I was 12 years old. Three years later I changed my mind and went to study with O. Martschenko in Novosibirsk Specialized Music School in Russia. Then I continued to study with D. Schwarzberg and A. Kandinskaya at the University of Music and performing Arts Vienna.
What is your favourite moment from your time in the MSO? We used to have surströmmings-party, once a year. It was shockingly stinky, but we had great fun. Each colleague was telling me their own way how to eat the surströmming. In fact, my favorite part was the homemade Swedish cakes :)
In what other orchestras/ensembles or other contexts have you worked? I played in Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana- Les Arts, ORF Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien as substitute 1st violin tutti. Other than that I also played in Norrbottens Kammarorkester as associate concertmaster and Helsingborgsymfoniorkester as co-principal 2nd violin. I also like playing chamber music and work with different ensembles, depending on various circumstances and opportunities.
Who is your favourite composer? It's too hard to pick one. There are too many geniuses!
What do you prefer to do in your spare time? I love taking photos, making my own art, dig in the garden, travelling, playing badminton... I just love learning the new things. Life is too short!
What is your tip on activity in Malmö? Whenever I have a visitors I take them to the seaside for a walk. Then eat an ice-cream while looking at the sea and seagulls.
What is your favourite food? I love food in general.
Why should everyone go and listen to symphonic music? Nobody ''should'' go and listen to symphonic music if one doesn't want to. On the other hand, I see the charm of symphonic music. There are not so many opportunities to see many people doing something together at the same time for the same goal. In that sense, symphonic concerts show us in a way, how we should cooperate and communicate with each other.
