The premiere of "The Nutcracker" took place in 1892 at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg. "The Nutcracker" is a fairy tale with several themes - a fun Christmas mood, with a mystery and mysticism that is very characteristic to Hoffmann's work. For spectators - children and adults - this ballet performance has become a truly fascinating and charming New Year's story, as almost no Christmas or New Year celebration takes place without the presence of the wonderful characters of this fairy tale. "The Nutcracker" holds a special place in the repertoire of Moscow Theatre’s "Classical Ballet of the XXI Century", which is headed by the Honoured Stage Artist of the Russian Federation, Elisabeth Nebesnaya. The main task of the theatre is to preserve the traditions of classical Russian ballet, and, by means of 21st century technologies, to make them understandable to modern-day viewers.

Olga Azizova - a board member of the company "WORLDSTARS", and the organiser of Moscow Theatre’s “Classical Ballet” guest performances:

“I am proud that for 10 years already, the company “WORLDSTARS” has been organising magnificent ballet gala concerts and performances in four countries – Latvia, Estonia, Sweden and Norway. Throughout those years, tens of thousands of spectators have taken the opportunity to watch performances by the best ballet soloists of the Paris Opera, the Bolshoi Theatre, the Royal Ballet and other theatres, as well as by the famous Moscow ballet company, and enjoyed the beauty of ballet art. I am happy to announce that after the splendid performance in January 2020, the Moscow Theatre "Classical Ballet" is returning to Malmö on 24 January 2021 to perform the legendary ballet “The Nutcracker” by P. Tchaikovsky – a moving winter fairy tale featuring brilliant dancers, magnificent costumes and splendid scenography. I truly believe that after the characters of this wondrous ballet have moved you, you will eagerly share your impressions of this special evening with your loved ones. It is of great importance to me that each and every performance brings joy and inspiration and takes you on a breathtaking journey to the world of art, truly touching your soul. Visit “The Nutcracker” ballet performance, and when you return home in a great mood, you will definitely appreciate having welcomed 2021 in a wonderful and festive atmosphere!”
