Get yourself geared up for an entire evening of glitter, platform shoes, glamour and dancing fever.

With the dazzling soloists Lina Hedlund, Andreas Lundstedt and Linda Pritchard coming together with Malmö Symphony Orchestra to perform hits such as Disco Inferno, I Will Survive and September, we can guarantee that sitting still will be nigh-on impossible!

Over the course of the evening you will be swept back to the golden age of 70s music through a string of disco chart-toppers from iconic films such as Saturday Night Fever featuring John Travolta. Behind the evening are conductor and arranger Hans Ek and Berwaldhallen, who led the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra in four sold-out performances of these disco classics before a wild and energetic crowd – and now it’s the turn of Malmö Symphony Orchestra here at Malmö Live.

Hans Ek is known not least for his bold and innovative mixes of songs from wildly disparate genres. With the might of the orchestra behind him, he has previously reinterpreted the work of electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk and he has mixed Stravinsky with Swedish House Mafia – and now it’s disco music he has in his sights. A genre which he equates with pure and unadulterated joy:

“It is full of such positive energy. There are no ulterior motives. Disco music is what it is and nothing more. Everyone on the dance floor is a soloist and the sense of sheer joy is palpable all around. That is what’s important, and there’s something really beautiful in that.
