040 Live: THE BATTLE OF K-POP!

On Saturday, May 28th, 2022, it's time for The Battle of K-pop, a dance competition organized by The Unnie Vibe Academy in collaboration with 040 Live. Join in and experience K-pop's inspiring world, filled with colorful fashion, upbeat music and dance at a high level.

On Malmö Live's stage, various dance groups compete with complex choreographed K-pop numbers, with dance styles such as popping, hip hop, and commercial, hoping to take home the first place and the big prize of 4,000 SEK!

Our international judges will be on site to decide which of all the fantastic dance entries will win!
Alongside the stage, you as a visitor get an insight into K-pop's enchanting universe through e.g. sales of various K-pop merch and Korean snacks, as well as Random Dance Play. Enjoy a great evening with all K-pop friends, The Unnie Vibe Academy and 040 Live!

The doors open at 16.00, the competition starts at 17.00 and lasts until approx. 19.00 Then there will be Random Dance Play and K-pop hang.

The Unnie Vibe Academy is a dance school started in 2017 by Wendy Huynh, the founder of the K-pop crew The Unnie Vibe who has also participated in many major international K-pop events. The dance school is aimed at all dance enthusiasts, and quickly became a gathering place for many K-pop enthusiasts. The Unnie Vibe Academy is Skåne's first K-pop dance school and is open to everyone, regardless of age and dance experience.
 
What is K-pop?
K-pop is an umbrella term for South Korean music and popular culture - and therefore includes not only pop music, but also other genres such as rap, hip hop, R&B and ballads. The spread of Korean popular culture is enormous, and is also known as Hallyu ('Korean wave'), especially in Asia and the United States. The biggest K-pop group right now is called BTS!
