Where are you from?
I am from Evanston, Illinois (USA).
When did you start playing your instrument?
I started playing both electric and string bass at the age of 10 after my close friend wanted me to play alongside him in our school orchestra. I also studied trumpet and tuba for a few years but ultimately stuck with the bass.
When did you start working with Malmö Symphony Orchestra?

What is your educational background?
I hold a Bachelor’s of Music from Indiana University under the tutelage of Lawrence Hurst and a Master’s of Music from Rice University under the tutelage of Timothy Pitts.
What is your favorite memory with MSO?
I really enjoyed playing Strauss’s Tod und Verklärung and Mahler’s Das Leid
von der Erde in both Malmö and Stockholm. It was a powerful program and I was glad we were able to share it in multiple cities.
Which orchestras did you play with before joining us at Malmö Live Concert Hall?
I performed as a guest section bassist with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra from 2017 until 2022. I have also performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Minnesota Orchestra, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra.
Who is your favorite composer?
My favorite composer to listen to is Ravel, my favorite composer to perform is Brahms.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Taking my dog on walks and watching the Chicago Bears (American football) disappoint me every year.
What is your favorite food?
Tonkatsu
Why do you think people should listen to symphonic music?
Because it rocks! (I am biased though)
