Xplore: Crushing Silence – music by Ragnar Grippe
Ragnar Grippe is one of Sweden’s most prominent pioneers of electronic music. During the concert in the Kuben, his music will be accompanied by a 360-degree light installation created by the world-renowned lighting designer Tobias Rylander.
Grippe has also written music for a number of Swedish and international films, including the theme for Jönssonligan, and created electronic music at the Elektronmusikstudion in Stockholm. Ragnar Grippe’s music carries clear French influences where the listener is thrown between different acoustic spaces. The focus constantly shifts to surprise the audience, while the music subtly deepens the experience of sound and space.
Tobias Rylander is regarded as one of Sweden’s leading lighting designers and has worked internationally on some of the world’s most acclaimed productions. His work includes lighting design for Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour, collaborations with the fashion house Balenciaga, and lighting design for ballet productions at the Royal Swedish Opera.
The pre-concert talk takes place at the Kanalscenen.
