The presenter of both New Year’s concerts this year will be the Skånske radio personality and author Kalle Lind. In his popular podcast Snedtänkt, Lind discusses odd things in an utterly individual way, and during these New Year’s concerts he be regaling audiences with his off-beat musings and unique perspective.
This year’s finely tuned soloists are the lyrical soprano Frida Engström and the dramatic baritone John Lundgren. Frida Engström has previously performed the lead role of Christine in the Phantom of the Opera at the Gothenburg Opera and Daisi Doody in Aniara at Malmö Opera. John Lundgren is no stranger to the opera’s repertoire of villainous roles such as Scarpia in Tosca and Pizzaro in Fidelio, and he has also made a name for himself as a magnificent interpreter of Wagner. When it comes to the music, Malmö Sympthony Orchestra naturally won’t be holding back – they will be performing a number of Russian, Italian and French heavyweights. And a good few knock-outs as well.
Updated ticket terms and conditions:
In order to make things easier for our visitors, we allow ticket purchasers to rebook their tickets free of charge, or to exchange them for a gift card, right up until the day before the concert. This applies at present and up until 31 December 2020 on concerts arranged by Malmö Live Konserthus. Note that this will only continue to apply if the coronavirus situation continues into the autumn and if the Public Health Agency of Sweden’s recommendations on the limitation of crowd sizes remain in place and unchanged.
